8th Round of GCLS: Let’s Talk SDGs (Bulgaria)
The ‘Let’s Talk SDGs‘ project, implemented by Stara Zagora Community Foundation, focuses on raising awareness and fostering action on the SDGs within the local community. The project brings together young people, NGOs, and local authorities to discuss the relevance of the SDGs and find ways to integrate them into everyday life.
Key activities include a National Photo Competition and Exhibition, surveys to assess how NGOs and municipalities are addressing SDGs, and a roundtable discussion to create actionable strategies for local implementation.
The project has three main objectives:
- Increase awareness of all 17 SDGs, highlighting their local importance.
- Support NGOs and municipalities in improving their communication and integration of SDGs.
- Encourage collaboration among local stakeholders to drive SDG-focused initiatives.
Expected outcomes include:
- A National Photo Exhibition that showcases youth perspectives on SDGs through photography.
- A Comprehensive Report based on the NGO survey and municipal website analysis, offering insights into how local organizations and governments can better incorporate SDGs.
- Concrete Action Points developed during the roundtable, providing stakeholders with clear steps to enhance local SDG initiatives.
Community engagement is central to this project. Participants will be involved in every stage, from creative photo submissions to collaborative discussions on improving local SDG practices. Success will be measured by participation rates, feedback from surveys, and the creation of new collaborations sparked by the project.
The project’s communication strategy includes social media campaigns, media coverage, and community events to engage and inspire a broad audience. By encouraging local involvement and actionable solutions, “Let’s Talk SDGs” aims to turn global goals into tangible local change.
