8th Round of GCLS: Locally for Global Goals: Empowering Communities through SDGs and Volunteering (Poland)

The project “Locally for Global Goals: Empowering Communities through SDGs and Volunteering” implemented by the Clementin Foundation, aims to promote the integration of the SDGs into local businesses, schools, and communities, fostering collaboration and engagement through volunteering initiatives.

The project’s core activities include organizing employee volunteering campaigns, such as the “Wolontariat z Klementyną” campaign, which will leverage social media platforms and partnerships with local businesses. Additionally, workshops for local authorities, school leaders, and teachers will introduce SDGs and explore how they can be implemented in local policies and educational settings. A key element of the project will be the “Friendly Local Business” campaign, which will engage businesses in SDG-driven social initiatives.

The project aims to raise awareness and create practical opportunities for engagement by organizing workshops, events, and campaigns to promote SDGs across five districts, reaching approximately 40,000 people. It targets local businesses, authorities, and schools, encouraging them to participate in volunteerism and support SDG-related activities. Success will be measured through quantitative indicators, such as the number of participants and partnerships formed, as well as qualitative feedback on the impact and engagement of stakeholders.

Key SDGs addressed by the project include No Poverty (SDG 1), Zero Hunger (SDG 2), Quality Education (SDG 4), Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).

Through digital campaigns, media outreach, and direct engagement with local stakeholders, the project aims to foster a greater understanding of SDGs and promote sustainable volunteerism. These efforts will culminate in creating lasting partnerships and tangible actions that contribute to local and global sustainability goals.
