Good Practices

Meet the GCLS Round 9 Grantees – Clementin Foundation (Poland)

In southern Mazovia, many older people face several difficulties at the same time: living alone, having too little money for basic needs, struggling to access enough food, and feeling isolated. A 2024 study of 308 older adults found that 32% live alone and 28% experience symptoms of depression. For people living on their own, financial hardship can also affect access to food and healthcare, making loneliness and poor well-being harder to overcome.

“Invisible Needs” will bring these local realities into a three-part video campaign. Short documentaries and interviews will follow real stories of poverty, undernourishment, and loneliness, linking each story to one Sustainable Development Goal. Older residents, volunteers, beneficiaries, and local partner organisations will share their experiences and show how community support works in practice. The campaign will also include 7–8 short videos for social media, with all videos subtitled in English.

The videos will show not only the problems but also practical responses: volunteering, intergenerational support, local initiatives, and ways neighbours and organisations can help. Viewers can learn how global goals such as ending poverty, hunger, and poor well-being connect to everyday life in their own community—and what local action can look like.

The project addresses SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).
