In the Żywiec region of southern Poland, unemployment, social exclusion, and youth mental health struggles often feel like separate, overwhelming issues. The Żywiec Development Foundation is tackling these challenges by showing how daily community efforts address global standards.

Through its six-month project “Stories That Bring SDGs Closer,” the foundation is producing four short mini-documentaries and reports that put local residents, young people, and regional partners front and center. Before filming, organizers are hosting preparatory community meetings where residents, schools, local businesses, and NGOs gather to share their personal experiences and co-create the narrative. The resulting video campaign features two main online premieres: the first in October, focused on youth mental health and fighting loneliness, and the second in November, highlighting social inclusion and vocational support.

Connecting global frameworks to everyday neighborhood realities helps demystify abstract policy goals. Local leaders, entrepreneurs, and public institutions can see exactly how small-scale cooperation directly improves daily life. Viewers will gain practical insights into how social integration centers operate, how community support networks protect youth mental health, and how cross-sector partnerships build lasting local resilience.
