PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The goal of the project was to provide Ukrainians with help according to their changing needs – to learn Bulgarian, to find work, administrative help, finding personal doctors, kindergartens and schools for the children; psychological support – creation of a children’s center where children can forget their fear, get their smiles back, find new friendships, feel better in their new place, and for women – creative activities and specialized help from a psychologist.

The information and assistance center has become an attractive place for Ukrainians. Overall support was provided to 91 people: 46 women, 40 children and 5 men. Help was provided for over 300 specific issues.

In the towns of Tvarditsa and Banya, they held information meetings for the refugees with a lawyer   and the education director to answer specific questions; organized   and conducted part-time activities for Ukrainian children (725 visits in three months); equipped the children’s center with everything necessary for children to feel good, to play, to create, to forget fear and stress. Moreover, they held an accelerated Bulgarian language courses in the towns of Tvarditsa and Banya, providing textbooks for 60 Bulgarian language learners; 2 art workshops – painting on silk. The works they created – small paintings and silk scarves – were sold at an exhibition-bazaar during a charity event. They provided a group of 18 children and their mothers with relaxing days in a mountain hut in the forest of the nature​ park, with the work of a psychologist.
