8th Round of GCLS: One Step Forward (Latvia)
The ‘One Step Forward’ project, implemented by the Cross-Regional Fund of Mid Latgale, aims to deepen public understanding of the SDGs and inspire sustainable habits. By focusing on Goals 11 (Sustainable Cities), 12 (Responsible Consumption), and 13 (Climate Action), the project will engage various community members and stakeholders to create positive change.
Through educational initiatives like SDG cards for schools, seminars on circular lifestyles, and engaging radio discussions, the project will actively involve local opinion leaders, teachers, and consumers. Radio broadcasts on Divu Krastu and Latvia National Radio, along with local newspaper articles and social media updates, will ensure wide outreach.
Key activities include seminars on responsible consumption, a “Ladies’ Talk” panel on sustainable fashion, and a series of radio programs about sustainable living. With the collaboration of local businesses, schools, and media, the project seeks to inspire responsible consumer choices, promote waste reduction, and encourage climate-conscious actions.
By leveraging trusted local media and fostering collaboration with community leaders, “One Step Forward” will make lasting impacts on sustainable practices, reaching thousands of people and influencing both local and national audiences.
