8th Round of GCLS: The Youth Supports Inclusive, Peaceful, and Resilient Nitra (Slovakia)

The “Youth Supports Inclusive, Peaceful, and Resilient Nitra” project by the Nitra Community Foundation (NCF) aims to engage young people in addressing local challenges in Nitra, aligned with SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). Youth aged 13-25 will be involved in identifying local issues and implementing community-driven projects, fostering a more inclusive, safe, and sustainable city.

Key Project Activities:

  1. Young Nitra Philanthropists (YNP) Program:
This grant program enables youth to develop community projects addressing SDG-related issues. Through workshops, participants will identify problems and execute initiatives that have a tangible impact on their community.
  2. Photovoice Research and Workshops:
In collaboration with the Nitra Youth Parliament, youth will conduct participatory research using the Photovoice method, documenting local issues through photography and engaging in discussions aimed at influencing local policies.

The project will be communicated through regular updates on websites, social media channels (Facebook and Instagram), newsletters, and press releases to ensure broad visibility within the community.

The project will train at least 32 young people, who will implement 8 youth-led community projects benefiting local communities. The Photovoice research results will contribute to the creation of the “Concept of Youth Work” in Nitra. Project materials, including the brochure and video, will be available in English and published online.

This is a unique opportunity for Nitra youth to actively contribute to shaping the future of their city!
