North Northamptonshire Global Goals Partnership – tackling Hidden Needs (United Kingdom)

Northamptonshire Community Foundation

Country: United Kingdom

Since its inception, the Foundation has built up an excellent track record of delivering grants to some of the most hard-to-reach charities and voluntary organisations in the county. The foundation is uniquely placed within Northamptonshire to have real and reliable insight into the needs of local communities. This is achieved through its network of advisory panels, outreach workers, the many voluntary sector contacts that have been developed, the large number of organisations that it has already supported and through its trustees, members and philanthropists. They deliver a variety of funding for the local voluntary and community sector awarding grants of over £ 1 million annually. They are dedicated to funding community-based action which improves the lives of our county’s most disadvantaged people and communities. Child poverty, unemployment, homelessness, domestic violence and social isolation are just some of the issues we strive to tackle each year

They wish to provide a ‘live’ community immersion event in partnership with a local community asset and local VCSE partners. This will be an opportunity for a range of stakeholders to take part in local projects helping achieve and tackle some of the global goals. Knowledge of the global goals is still very sector-dependent and by having events at a visible community asset they will increase the effectiveness of communications to a wider audience. The community immersion event will include a promotional and marketing toolkit on the global goals which will subsequently be used at community forums and other micro-community events for the duration of the project to educate and raise awareness and interest. The messaging around the event and charter will be communicated via their social media channels and networks.
