Our community; our vision for change

The Ideas Partnership

ABOUT: The Ideas Partnership mission is the empowerment and support of those in need in Kosovo, particularly in the fields of education, health and social welfare, promoting volunteerism and philanthropy. The Ideas Partnership mission works mainly with the marginalized Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities with a philosophy of not only helping those in need and helping people in need to help themselves but also – as they believe most transformationally – helping those in need to help others in need.

PROJECT TITLE: Our community; our vision for change

PROJECT’S MAIN GOAL: The projects main goals is transformation in the field of education and inclusion for Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians of four (4) municipalities in Kosovo through improved educational provision and increased participation in community initiatives.

‘Our community; our vision for change’ is a project implemented by The Ideas Partnership NGO. The project engages youth and women from marginalized Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian communities in Kosovo with the aim of tackling the lack of inclusion in education. This is done through four main components: 1) the Children’s Council which is active in two municipalities equips participants with knowledge of the democratic principles of representation and the importance of accountability. 2)  creating community advocates who offer practical support for women’s literacy, reaching women who haven’t yet engaged in this support for their own and their children’s learning. 3) through the Young Leaders club which provides youth with the opportunity to create and implement community initiatives aimed at reducing inequality; and 4) the Young Social Workers initiative which tackles  early marriage and the risks it poses to girls’ education.
